Forced Reset Explained

A standard trigger waits for your finger to release before it resets. A forced reset trigger uses the firearm's cycling energy to push the trigger forward mechanically. One round per pull, faster reset.

Choosing a Forced Reset Trigger

Platform, generation and state.

Platform Fit

Every forced reset trigger is platform-specific. The GRT is Gen 1 to 4 only. The MCX kit excludes .308, .277 Fury and Copperhead. The 10/22 trigger fits all 10/22s with fitting. Read every listing.

Buffer Weight

AR forced reset triggers run at cyclic speeds a 3 oz carbine buffer cannot handle. The Odin Works 6.2 oz buffer and flat wire spring kit is purpose-built; an H2 or H3 is the floor.

Fitting

The 10/22 trigger and some AK receivers require polishing of the bolt, hammer and contact surfaces. Fitting videos are on the product pages.

    For any AR forced reset trigger, yes. A standard 3 oz buffer lets the carrier return before the reset engages, causing bolt bounce and failure to reset. Use an H2, H3 or the Odin Works 6.2 oz kit.

  • What is a Slip Trip kit?

    An AS Designs adapter that lets a Super Safety or ARC Fire forced reset trigger run in a Sig MCX, MPX or PSA JAKL. You need the standard AR Super Safety or ARC Fire kit plus the Slip Trip kit.
