Choosing an AR-10 Barrel

Four decisions.

Length

10.5" and 12.5" are pistol and SBR barrels. 16" is the rifle minimum and handiest. 18" to 24" trade handling for velocity and are the choice for 6.5 Creedmoor and .22-250.

Twist

1:10 for .308 covers every common bullet. 1:8 in 6.5 Creedmoor and .243 stabilizes the long high-BC bullets those cartridges are built for.

Bolt Face

.308, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 and .22-250 all use the .308 bolt. Our AR-10 BCG is rated for all four. 8.6 Blackout and .277 Fury have their own notes on the product page.

Gas & Pattern

Order the gas tube in the length listed on the barrel. Barrels fit DPMS and Armalite uppers alike; the barrel extension is standard AR-10.
