Choosing an AR-10 LPK

Pattern and pin size.

Pattern

The kit fits DPMS and LR-308 pattern lowers. Some Armalite lowers use different takedown pins or .170 fire control pins; check yours.

Trigger Plans

If you are installing a Super Safety or FRT, the LPK still supplies the bolt catch, pins, selector and grip. Keep the mil-spec trigger as a spare.

Grip

The A2 grip in the kit is functional. Rubberized grips from our grip category swap in with the same screw.

Lost Parts

The kit includes two sets of takedown and pivot detents and springs, the parts most often lost during assembly.

  • What is included in the AR-10 lower parts kit?

  • Will an AR-15 LPK work in an AR-10?

    Mostly, but not completely. The bolt catch, takedown pin and pivot pin are longer on an AR-10. This kit includes the correct .308 versions.

  • Does the kit include a pistol grip?

    Yes. An A2-style polymer pistol grip with screw and lock washer is included.

  • Can I use the Super Safety with this kit?

    Yes. Install the Super Safety in place of the kit's trigger and hammer, use the rest of the kit as normal, and add anti-walk pins and a heavy buffer.

  • Do lower parts kits require an FFL?

    No. Lower parts kits ship directly to you. Only the stripped lower receiver is a firearm and must ship to an FFL.
