NSPEC Innovations 1911 / 2011 Forced Reset Disconnector (FRD) Kit – 316 Stainless Steel
The NSPEC Innovations 1911 / 2011 FRD Disconnector Kit delivers a rugged, customizable forced reset upgrade engineered specifically for 1911 and 2011 platforms. Precision cut from durable 316 stainless steel, this kit is specifically designed for custom builders and 1911/2011 enthusiasts looking to fine-tune their trigger mechanics for optimal timing and dependable reset function.
Because tolerances among 1911 and 2011 manufacturers, frames, and slides vary considerably, a single disconnector profile will not fit every build. To eliminate the guesswork and ensure proper timing for your specific configuration, NSPEC Innovations offers this forced reset device kit in three interchangeable disconnector profiles.
What’s Offered
- Small Disconnector: works in most 1911/2011 models
- Medium Disconnector: mostly used for older 1911 models
- Large Disconnector: Used when all other options will not run in your 1911/2011. The larger hump size allows for material to be removed and the forced reset device to be installed and tested with custom hump sizing.
Note: The small, medium, and large designations refer specifically to the profile height of the raised reset hump on each disconnector, not the overall outer dimensions of the component. Having three profiles to choose from allows you to test, select, and tune the exact geometry required to mate with your specific slide and frame tolerances.
Manufacturing & Builder-Grade Finish
These components are plasma-cut from heavy-duty 316 stainless steel, known for its superior strength and corrosion resistance. To deliver the lowest possible price point to builders, these components are shipped in a builder-grade condition.
- Parts may exhibit minor dross, edge roughness, or surface imperfections typical of plasma cutting.
- Light deburring, surface smoothing, and fine polishing are recommended prior to final installation and testing.
- Supplying these parts in unfinished form avoids costly factory hand-finishing markups, passing maximum savings directly to the builder.
Fitment & Installation Notice
This is not a guaranteed drop-in part. Due to variance across custom builds, production runs, and aftermarket manufacturers, professional fitting, polishing, and tuning are required. Your 1911/2011 handgun should have a "marvel cut" for proper use of this forced reset device.
- Proper function depends on slide cut geometry, trigger bow dimensions, sear spring tension, and frame tolerances.
- Numerous third-party instructional and tuning videos are available on YouTube for educational guidance on fitting 1911/2011 forced reset systems.
- Never remove excessive metal, alter primary critical engagement surfaces, or operate a firearm showing signs of erratic, binding, or unintended action.
- If you are not fully experienced with 1911/2011 internal mechanics and safety function checks, have this kit installed and inspected by a qualified gunsmith.
Platform Compatibility
Engineered for standard-pattern 1911 and 2011 hammer-fired platforms. Fitment varies by slide, frame, and trigger bow specifications across different makers (e.g., Staccato, Rock Island, Tisas, custom 2011 frames). Universal compatibility across every proprietary configuration is neither stated nor implied.
Return Policy
Returns are accepted strictly on new, uninstalled, unmodified, and unpolished items within our standard return window and are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Components that have been installed, polished, tuned, altered, ground down, test-fired, or damaged in any way are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable. Outbound and return shipping fees are non-refundable.
